Dordogne wines
The Périgord and the Dordogne are known for their rich winemaking. A reputation that is not overstated! The department is home to no fewer than 13 appellations of controlled origin, including the AOCs Bergerac, Rosette, Saussignac, Monbazillac, and Montravel. Red, dry white, sweet white, and even rosé, the wine treasures are numerous, and the estates to visit are legion. For more information, contact La Maison des Vins, located on Quai Cyrano, where the Tourist Office is also located.
The markets of Bergerac
A land of gastronomy par excellence, Bergerac has built its wealth through trade. It is therefore no coincidence that the town has a great tradition of markets. The food and tourist market is held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, near Notre-Dame Church. You can also visit the Halles de Bergerac, a covered market open every day.
During the summer season, on Saturday mornings, you can discover Flavors of the World, and on Sunday mornings, head for a Brunch "from our region."
